Synopsis
Two dozen young Tibetan monks, accompanied by Matthieu Ricard, leave their monastery to perform adaptations of their sacred ritual dances before French audiences. They are received by the Théâtre du Soleil, given lodging and invited to mount ten performances. Ariane Mnouchkine's inquisitive nature brings out many aspects of the monks' lives and performances, allowing us to discover their monastic and theatrical sides, and this ancient dance, rich, stylized and enchanting.
