The journey of a tree in the Great Canadian West
Synopsis
Following in the footsteps of Jack London, we head deep into the the Great Canadian West; The journey of a tree from the forest to the sawmill. An adventure where we meet characters found nowhere else, people who sometimes put their life on the line but we couldn’t convince them to be any other way. Their trade doubles up as a way of eeking out a living from this vast expanse.
Amongst them, there is a lumberjack who risks its life each day cutting down these ancient trees.
A tug-boat captain who fears for the 30,000 tonne bundle of logs he pulls behind him. A beachcomber who lives or rather survives on logs washed up on the shore. Operators making emergency maneuvers of flat bottom barges used to transport the wood to the sawmill. All of this surrounded by the ocean, because in British Columbia, wood and the sea are intimately linked.
