Synopsis

At the start of September the Rettir takes over the Islanders’ weekends. The annual sheep roundup takes place all over the island as everyone hurries to catch all the animals before the first snows of the winter.

In the north of the country Kristjan Eldjarn never misses a sheep. On the mountainous slopes he chases after those animals that don’t yet want to come down. But the Rettir is more than just a rounding up of sheep, it is first and foremost the art of finding yourself.”
