When you’re getting on for 75, and still gambolling on the hillside like a young girl at an altitude of 6,000 feet, you don’t worry about that big cone smoking above your head. It’s just part of life. Trisno, who gleans wood on the slopes of the mountain, is not scared of Merapi, which the volcanologists consider to be one of the most active and dangerous volcanoes of the planet.
